Doctor. One raises €4M to scale asynchronous care model for chronic patients in Europe

Polish healthtech company Doctor. One has secured €4 million in funding to scale its asynchronous digital care model for chronic patients. The round was led by YZR Capital, with participation from Impact Ventures and existing backers.

Founded in Warsaw, Poland, Doctor. One is building a platform that allows patients with chronic conditions to access medical support outside traditional clinic visits.

Instead of waiting weeks for appointments, patients can message their assigned doctor at any time, receiving advice, monitoring, and treatment adjustments through the platform.

Insight

Chronic disease management is one of the biggest challenges in modern healthcare. Conditions like diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease require constant oversight rather than episodic visits. Doctor. One’s model provides a continuous, scalable, and more affordable way to monitor patients, helping to reduce hospitalizations, detect complications earlier, and free up clinical resources.

For doctors, the asynchronous model means they can care for more patients efficiently, while focusing on meaningful interventions rather than administrative overhead. For patients, it’s a lifeline to timely guidance, reassurance, and ongoing monitoring.

This approach also addresses Europe’s growing healthcare bottlenecks: long waiting times, clinician shortages, and high costs of care. By digitizing the doctor-patient relationship without eliminating the human element, Doctor. One positions itself at the intersection of digital health and sustainable chronic care delivery.

Doctor. One is part of a broader shift toward “continuous care” models that blend digital tools with clinical oversight. The €4 million raise will allow the company to expand across Europe, proving that asynchronous models can scale effectively.

For investors, this signals confidence in platforms that:

  • Address chronic care, a €1 trillion+ burden in Europe.
  • Reduce strain on public health systems while improving outcomes.
  • Enable recurring revenue through subscription-based or insurer-backed models.

Key notes

  • Asynchronous care is gaining traction: Doctor. One’s raise highlights investor belief in models that move beyond telemedicine’s real-time video consults.
  • Chronic care is ripe for disruption: With an aging population, scalable solutions like Doctor. One’s can deliver both social impact and strong returns.
  • Europe is the testbed: Success here could open pathways to global markets facing the same chronic care challenges.
